Brooklyn youngsters raise money for Tish James

A fundraiser for Councilwoman Tish James’s nascent public advocate campaign just popped up in my inbox, with a host committee packed with young Democrats, some of whom are from the anti-Vito Lopez wing of the Brooklyn Democratic Party.

Notable names include: Lincoln Restler, the omnipresent, bespectacled district leader who has made rallying against Lopez almost into a religion; Jennifer Breger, who has worked on State Sen. Liz Krueger’s campaign; Justin Brannan, president of the Bay Ridge Democrats; Ellyn Canfield and Erica Colodner, both of consulting firm Hudson TG; Seamus Campbell, who works for both the Brooklyn Young Democrats and New York State Young Democrats organizations; Isaebel Hill, a Brooklyn filmmaker; Stephanie Hausner, a National Democratic committee woman; Kimberly Peeler-Allen, who works for the New York Senate Democrats; Kevin Powell, former Real World star and congressional candiate; and L. James is not the only one considering a run for public advocate (assuming Bill de Blasio makes a run for mayor next year). Former congressional candidate Reshma Saujani, who just resigned her position in the PA’s office, is raising money for a run; and State Sen. Daniel Squadron.
