* Park Strategies acquired Capitol Public Strategies last month, a merger that Park Strategies’ founder, former U.S. Sen. Al D’Amato, said will expand his lobbying firm’s reach into upstate New York and give his team expertise in political campaigns and public relations. “While we have represented some communities from upstate and some business interests upstate, this really broadens our presence so that it is not just Long Island, New York City and Washington, but really gives us a much stronger presence throughout the upstate communities,” D’Amato said. Six CPS professionals are now officially under the Park Strategies banner, including former Gov. George Pataki staffers Ryan Moses, Bill McGahay and David Catalfamo, who is on Wendy Long’s U.S. Senate campaign. Park Strategies, which largely works with businesses, already had 14 professionals on staff, including several inAlbany. The acquisition gives the firm “a lot more firepower” since Park Strategies can take advantage of “the professional talents and the business development that Capitol Park Strategies has undertaken,” D’Amato said. “It’s a win-win for everybody.”
