Grimm At Work
Before voters sent him to Washington, Rep. Michael Grimm launched business ventures in various industries and worked in a variety of jobs, including an undercover FBI stint as “Mikey Suits,” an impeccably dressed Wall Street trader.
So it’s perhaps no surprise the congressman has a penchant for trying new jobs and taking on new roles, if only for a few hours.
So far, he has clocked in as a school principal, a ferry worker, a UPS delivery man, a postman, a firefighter and operating engineer. He said his “On the Job” initiative lets him get to know constituents, hear their concerns and see how jobs are created.
“The people I represent in Staten Island and Brooklyn work very hard – particularly now as they try to cope with the outrageous toll hikes, rising gas prices, and a tough economy,” Grimm said. “This is my way of letting them know I’m here and I work for them.”
