Racing and gaming = so hot right now.

There’s a mad rush of political money and activity swirling around racing and gaming these days, as the state considers legalizing casino gambling and new scandal-induced restrictions on the thoroughbred racing industry change the face of the state’s gambling market.

Therefore, Rochester-based law firm Harris Beach, (also the employer of State Sen. Michael Nozzolio) sent out a press release announcing the launch of its New York Racing and Gaming Blog, billed as  ”a professional forum to generate an insightful discussion of current policy and regulatory issues impacting New York’s racing and gaming industry.”

From the release:

“New York’s racing and gaming industry is highly regulated and that presents numerous challenges for organizations to maintain compliance in the increasingly complex web of federal, state and local regulatory arenas.  This is the only such blog in New York that specifically focuses on issues that impact compliance topics against the backdrop of a fast changing regulatory environment, as well as general commentary on operational issues affecting the state’s racing and gaming industry.”

The blog is going to be moderated by lawyers from the “Harris Beach Racing and Gaming Industry Team.”
