There’s a new class in Albany.

Thirty-two new state lawmakers are taking office, including a radio host, a dry cleaner and a church media director, plus the customary crew of legislative staffers, attorneys and local elected officials.

The Assembly welcomes 23 new members, 16 of whom are Democrats. Nine new members will join the Senate, among them five Democrats, two Republicans, and one Dem who is caucusing with the GOP.

With storm aid on the agenda, a host of fiscal woes and a full docket of high-profile legislation, these freshmen will have a lot on their plates. Let’s meet them.
