Schneiderman Beats Cuomo And Spitzer In First-Year Fundraising
Attorney General Eric Schneiderman raised more in his first year in office than either of his predecessors, Andrew Cuomo and Eliot Spitzer, over a similar period.
Schneiderman raised $1,656,060 in 2011, compared to $861,974 raised by Spitzer in his first year in office, or $1,031,350.34 raised by Cuomo in his first year as attorney general.
Here’s a chart comparing their numbers:
| Jan.: $ Raised | Jan.: COH | Total $ Raised in Year 1 | |
| Spitzer |
$390,332.00 |
$285,364.97 |
$861,974.00 |
| Cuomo |
$531,275.34 |
$1,141,321.30 |
$1,031,350.34 |
| Schneiderman |
$750,110.00 |
$843,713.01 |
$1,656,060.00 |
Schneiderman’s campaign is reporting $843,713.01 cash-on-hand, and having raised a total of $750,110 in this filing period. He has spent a total of $183,643.21.
The AG skipped Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s budget address today to appear on a conference call for the Democratic National Committee slamming GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney for failing to release his tax returns. Schneiderman has criticized the Obama administration over its stance on a mortgage settlement with the big U.S. banks, but he apparently is still a loyal Democrat when it comes to issues related to the 2012 election.
