Sens. Adams, Montgomery In Same District
Brooklyn State Sens. Eric Adams and Velmanette Montgomery’s residences are now in the same Senate district, spokespersons for both the Senate Republicans and Democrats confirmed, potentially putting the two colleagues in the position of running against one another.
Adams, has represented Sunset Park and Flatbush, and Montgomery has represented Clinton Hill and Fort Green, among other neigbhorhoods. We’re still trying to figure out which one would likely be favored in a possible matchup. Montgomery is a longtime incumbent, while Adams has been mentioned as a possible 2013 Brooklyn borough president candidate.
The senators could not be immediately reached for comment.
UPDATE:
Just noticed that State of Politics mentioned this in a post a little before us.
