Continuing to stoke the flames of Gillibrand 2016, New York’s junior senator addressed the Iowa delegation today at the Democratic National Convention, and based upon the glowing response of those in attendance, Gillibrand impressed the constituency that every presidential hopeful aims to court. Iowa delegate Evan Anderson said Gillibrand’s speech was the “best, most relatable” that he had seen out of the nearly dozen high profile speakers to attend the Iowa delegation’s breakfasts, while Linn County Supervisor Linda Langston, who praised Gillibrand’s record on women’s and LGBT issues, added that “people were lining up to take photos with her.” Does all this enthusiasm mean that Gillibrand should take the plunge and run for the highest office in the land? Mike Newell, a delegate from Urbandale, Iowa, thinks it’s too early to commit to a candidate. Said Newell, “It’s going to be a tough choice in 2016.”
