What’s Next? Time to Focus on 2013 Election!
This election’s over, so what’s next? “Now we can focus on 2013 because 2012 is over,” New York City Councilman Robert Jackson, who’s running for Manhattan borough president next year, said last night after most of the 2012 general election results had come in. “That’s what everybody was saying: ‘Let’s get through 2012, let’s get through November.’ Well, November is now over as far as I’m concerned, obviously, with President Obama being re-elected. So everyone now is going to turn to 2013. But you know what everybody is going to do first? They’re going to take a breather for a couple of days, and then you’ve got to re-focus right away.” So far, Jackson’s opponents in the borough president race include fellow City Council members Jessica Lappin and Gale Brewer and former Community Board 1 chair Julie Menin.
