Just a casual glance at recent headlines – from Medicaid’s massive impact on the state budget to New York City’s likely role in combating a global disease – reveals the health care field’s outsized influence in New York politics. On Jan. 23, City & State recognized the 100 most powerful leaders in the health care community during an evening reception at The Flat NYC in Manhattan. The event featured keynote remarks from state Health Commissioner Howard Zucker and New York City Health and Mental Hygiene Commissioner Oxiris Barbot.
