Maria Cruz Lee

Broadly charged with building audience across all products and platforms, Maria leads the newly formed Digital Marketing Department at City & State. She brings in best practices and recommends strategies to promote the brand. Her team handles the technical aspects of the website and emails and the overall marketing for the brand, especially focused on increasing the number of event attendees.

Maria has over 10 years of experience in digital marketing, connecting grassroots audiences to city government and national campaigns. She has served under the Bloomberg and de Blasio administrations and was part of the digital team at Hillary for America headquarters in 2016. She is a CUNY graduate of Hunter College and is an Executive MPA student at Baruch Marxe. As the digital marketing director for the City University of New York, she created and managed the CUNY Digital Council and was recognized by City & State as a 40 Under 40 Rising Star in 2018.

Maria lives in Queensboro Plaza with her partner, Bobby, and their dog, Walter White.
