Government Collaboration and Moderniztion

The pandemic has exposed serious shortcomings regarding our antiquated systems and also, on a positive note-- our abilities to be inspired through a rapid call to action from tech and government leaders, advocacy groups, healthcare workers, entrepreneurs and engineers. Whether by helping our hospitals, schools, small businesses, or our most vulnerable communities, New York’s tech sector has been at the forefront of the city’s response. We know it's time to take modernization more seriously and in a faster manner. The question is: Where to begin? How can we cut through the usual red tape and get things to progress faster and more efficiently? This session discusses where to focus, what to prioritize, and how to proceed.

  • Dawn Pinnock, Commissioner, New York City Department of Citywide Administrative Services

Navigating Threats to Cyber and Physical Infrastructure

Even with the latest innovations in place, the infrastructure and technology used to keep New Yorkers safe, healthy, moving and connected, are never invincible. New York is in a constant state of improvement. We will discuss working together to build a more resilient infrastructure including public safety services, and other ideas in the face of many possible emergency situations.
