How We Work Now

The pandemic taught us that work is no longer commuting into the office for 8 hour days 5 days a week.  But of course, we have lost the social and collaborative element along the way.  Some offices have returned; some have set up a hybrid situation while others are still at home.  What does the Future of Work look like in New York?  Topics will include returning to the office, how has NY’s workforce changed, investing in the workplace and more.

What is New York’s future industry going to be?

The city lost almost 900,000 jobs mostly in historically important finance & insurance and real estate sectors during the initial months of the pandemic and had recovered just over half of those jobs by June 2021.  But much of New York’s ongoing economic recovery has been concentrated in health care, life sciences, and the growing tech industry, sectors that were strengthening prior to the pandemic.   How has technology in the workplace transformed business?  We will discuss virtual reality, cryptocurrency, secure and instant messaging and more.

Adem Bunkeddeko, Executive Director, Coro New York (Moderator)

Amanda Farías, Chair, New York City Council Committee on Economic Development

Harry Bronson, Chair, Assembly Committee on Economic Development, Job Creation, Commerce and Industry
