As art director, Andrew oversees the design, visual conception and production of City & State New York’s print, digital and events.
Prior to joining City & State in 2018, Andrew was the creative director of The Village Voice, Billboard and BusinessWeek, designed books for Rolling Stone and designed the award-winning architecture magazine, GreenSource.
Andrew hails from Australia, but has called Washington Heights his home for over 13 years, from which he sets out to explore foreign streetfood with his daughter.
Aaron is a graphic designer at City & State, aiding in the production of the magazine and designing event journals, posters, advertisements and other marketing materials.
He previously held an internship at Esquire magazine and then was hired as a freelance graphic designer for Hearst Men’s Group.
He graduated from the Art Institute of New York City in 2015 and has a background in graphic and print design, fashion design, photography, video editing and production, and web design.
He is an avid skateboarder who likes to work on cars with his friends on the weekends.
Alex is a senior graphic designer for City & State New York and a member of the creative team. He specializes in designing user interfaces, user experiences, websites, branding and illustrations. In addition to designing, he assists in front-end web development for web production.
Alex graduated with a B.A. in media studies and has been in the creative field for over six years. He previously worked as a freelance web designer for a real estate branding and marketing agency.
Alex currently lives in the Lower East Side of Manhattan.
As project manager, Michael works closely with the digital, design and editorial teams on all web-based projects, including posting weekly articles and feature stories. He works closely with the digital manager in the development of all new City & State websites and special projects. He also manages the company’s website analytics and assists in their email services. Michael comes from a print publication background and has over seven years' experience in business, sales, customer service and web. Along with a B.A. in business/marketing, he is an integral part of the digital team.
Michael currently lives on the Upper East Side with his wife, Christy, and is also an avid guitarist performing around the New York City area.

As founder and research director of the Empire Center for Public Policy, E.J. McMahon is a go-to expert on budget plans and policy proposals. His organization promotes greater transparency, accountability and fiscal responsibility in state government, which often puts him at odds with lawmakers and the governor. McMahon previously worked as a journalist in Albany, as an Assembly Republican staffer and a budget adviser for almost 30 years, giving him great insight into the goings-on in the Capitol.
