As the legal advertising executive at City & State, Shakirah oversees the legal notices section of City & State New York. In this position, she primarily supports new businesses through the process of fulfilling the New York state requirement to announce the standing of their venture under the state law. In addition to business and commercial notices, the legal notices section of City & State archives government-related activities, such as court notices, unclaimed funds, restaurant licensing, public hearings and more to inform people of changes in their community. She is a Metropolitan College of New York graduate of the MBA in media management program as well as an inaugural WEEN Academy alumna, placing top 3 of her cohort. Even though she appears to be quite the social butterfly, she considers herself to be quite the introvert. @SimplyShakirah
As a junior sales executive, Caitlin keeps the City & State and New York Nonprofit Media job boards running smoothly and chock full of exciting, new open positions. She also maintains the City & State print magazine’s subscription database, and oversees daily operations in the office. Caitlin graduated from Brown University in 2016. She majored in Science & Society, which isn’t even the most outlandish major one can have there. Caitlin grew up on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, and will continue to reside there with her family until it is socially unacceptable.
