Finksgiving Part 2: De Blasio's second term and the 2018 House races

There’s no better time to discuss New York politics than the holidays. In part two of the Slant podcast's “Finksgiving,” NY1 reporter Zack Fink spoke about what the next four years will look like for New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio, who declared a mandate for his agenda after his re-election victory.

“Among the people who voted, he did get 64 percent. You’ve got to give him his due. That doesn’t mean his agenda is more likely to happen,” Fink said about de Blasio’s second term. He also discussed how opposition to the mayor in Albany could handicap his agenda.

Fink also surveyed the 2018 landscape for competitive House races throughout the state, and whether former Republican mayoral candidate Assemblywoman Nicole Malliotakis could be tapped as a possible lieutenant governor candidate.
