Rep. Ritchie Torres proposes a bill to Stop Another Non-Truthful Office Seeker (SANTOS)
Congressman Torres has no desire to work with Santos as a colleague, and does not believe he is fit for public office, in fact stated, 'I won't shake his hand.'
After tweeting about the proposed SANTOS Act last night, Rep. Torres joined Skye to elaborate on the thoughts (and fitting acronym) behind the legislation. According to Rep. Torres, there is no constitutional issue with proposing a bill that would require candidates for public office to disclose information about their background and qualifications under oath. "The tragic irony of George Santos is that his actual story of coming from humble origins of being a wage earner, of being the son of a domestic worker, is actually pretty compelling. It's more compelling than the lie that he told to voters."
