Harris, who has more than 20 years of experience leading nonprofits and international grant-making, partnering with communities to make local investments, and promoting community organizing, is CitizensNYC’s first black CEO in the organization’s nearly 50-year history. CitizensNYC awards micro-grants for community building projects. Funding comes from a combination of private foundations, corporate sponsors, government partners and individuals.
