Andrew Simmons is a Man of Steel: the only Black-owned supplier of rebar on the East Coast
After serving seven years in prison, Simmons not only started his own business as a certified M/DBE contractor (Minority/Disadvantaged Business Enterprise) working on hundreds of government projects, but provides job opportunities to others coming out from behind bars.
Based on Long Island, A&S Rebar is certified by the MTA and by New York State to provide onsite rebar & fabrication services, as a distributor/supplier of reinforced steel.
