Fashion’s biggest night at the Metropolitan Museum of Art is also a special event for the few New York politicians and appointed officials who attend. The Met Gala, which has gotten politicians in ethical trouble in previous years, was protested by pro-Palestinian activists, reflecting the past month of protests on college campuses in New York City – and around the country.
