NEW YORK, NY — Hollis Public Affairs (HPA) today announced that Kassandra Perez-Desir has joined the firm as Senior Vice President of Government Affairs, deepening the firm's strength and expanding its government relations and policy practice capabilities.
Perez-Desir brings a uniquely comprehensive experience developed over more than two decades that spans all levels of government, regulatory strategy, and private-sector advocacy. Perez-Desir most recently served as Head of Government Relations at DoorDash. In that role she directed policy, legislative efforts, and government affairs strategy across New York, New Jersey, and Puerto Rico. Prior to that, Perez-Desir led public policy and government affairs for Verizon, where she managed complex policy portfolios, underscoring her exceptional ability to bridge public policy and private-sector priorities.
She significantly strengthens HPA’s ability to deliver results for clients navigating a complex political landscape.
In her new role, Perez-Desir will act as a senior strategic advisor to clients, develop and lead impactful government affairs campaigns, advance legislative and regulatory priorities for HPA’s clients, and strengthen the firm's coalition-building efforts. She will work closely with HPA leadership and its teams to help clients anticipate and navigate policy shifts, mitigate risk, and drive concrete outcomes.
“Kassandra is a powerhouse in government affairs with a rare combination of public and private sector experience that aligns perfectly with where our firm is headed,” said Brian W. Simon, Founder and Managing Partner at Hollis Public Affairs. “As demand continues to grow for sophisticated, results-driven government relations, Kassandra’s ability to translate nuanced policy matters into actionable strategy is exactly what our clients need to achieve their goals.”
“Kassandra brings a full-spectrum perspective to policy advocacy,” said Julissa Ferreras-Copeland, Senior Partner at Hollis Public Affairs. “She has a deep understanding of how decisions are made and how to influence them effectively. Her addition enhances our ability to execute at the highest levels and continue to scale our government affairs practice.”
She has held multiple senior roles in political administrations that established her comprehensive expertise in executive, legislative, and municipal governance. This includes key policy positions under former Mayor Michael Bloomberg, as Special Advisor to then-Gov. Andrew Cuomo, and as Director of Immigrant Affairs for Sen. Chuck Schumer, where she began her public service.
“I’m excited to join Hollis Public Affairs at a time of meaningful growth for the firm,” said Perez-Desir. “I look forward to working with this impressive team to help clients navigate evolving policy challenges, build strong coalitions, and achieve impactful results.”
Perez-Desir holds a bachelor's degree from St. John's University and a Juris Doctor from New York Law School. She resides in Brooklyn with her husband and two daughters.
