Publisher’s note: Celebrating two decades of award-winning political journalism

It is with great pride and gratitude that I announce that 2026 marks the 20th Anniversary of City & State.

For two decades, we have served as the must-read publication for public servants and political influencers in New York.

From the chambers of City Hall to the halls of Albany and throughout the great state of New York, City & State has been consistently reporting, analyzing and convening the power players across New York state.

We could not have reached this great achievement without our dedicated readers and partners and for that we are extremely grateful.

To celebrate this milestone, we are launching a yearlong series of limited-edition products and events to highlight our accomplishments and provide our partners with visibility and access to New York’s decision-makers.

Starting in March and running through June, we are debuting the First Read 20th Anniversary Section. This biweekly feature will offer a deep dive into the history of New York politics.

Complementing this, we are launching the 20th Anniversary Podcast Series. This 10-episode journey will profile the most influential figures in New York, past and present. For partners, this offers a rare opportunity to be branded alongside the biggest names in industry and government who have defined our era.

Later this year, we will unveil The Next 20 Years: Future Innovators special magazine edition profiling the emerging leaders poised to run New York for the next two decades.

All of this culminates in September with our 20th Anniversary Gala and main 20th Anniversary Issue. This will be a truly special gathering, bringing together the top brass in New York politics to celebrate our award-winning legacy.

I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to the City & State journalists, both past and present, whose rigorous reporting and integrity have made us a trusted source of truth and valued journalism.
