In the midst of a competitive Democratic Party mayoral primary race in New York City, two of the candidates veered off the campaign trail for a trek down the red carpet. New York City Council Speaker Adrienne Adams and New York City Comptroller Brad Lander were two of the standout politicians and political figures to attend Monday night’s Met Gala. Absent though were New York City Mayor Eric Adams and former Mayor Mike Bloomberg, who have attended in recent years. We’ll see if either of the candidates who attended get a bump in the polls from the fashionista voting bloc.
