“If you want a friend in Washington, get a dog.” It’s a quote that has been misattributed to former President Harry S. Truman for decades. Likely stemming from a 1975 play, “Give ’em Hell, Harry,” the sentiment has continued to resonate in the cutthroat world of politics.
